Serengeti National Park

Where the horizon has no edges, and the wild has never once stopped moving.

The Destination

A Land Older Than Memory

The Maasai called it Siringet , the place where the land runs on forever. Today we call it the Serengeti, but the name has never done it justice. Across 14,750 square kilometres of golden grass, acacia-studded plains and wind-carved kopjes, this is a place that measures time not in seasons, but in the passage of a million hooves.

There is no fence here, no edge to the wild. Just an unbroken theatre of life, stretching from horizon to horizon, exactly as it has for millennia and exactly as it should remain.

Safari Activities

Ways to Meet the Serengeti

Every hour of the day offers a different way to encounter this land from first light on the plains to a fire under a sky heavy with stars.

Dawn & Dusk Game Drives

Set out as the plains wake when predators still hunt in the low light and the grass turns to amber. Open-sided 4x4s put you eye-level with the wild.

Great Migration River Crossings

Witness over a million wildebeest and zebra surge across the Mara and Grumeti rivers nature's single most dramatic act of instinct and survival.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

Rise silently above the plains at sunrise and watch herds scatter like shadows below, before landing to a champagne breakfast laid in the grass.

Guided Walking Safaris

Trade the engine for footsteps. A armed guide leads you through the smaller stories of the Serengeti tracks, dung, birdsong, and the details a vehicle drives past.

Night Game Drives

Available in the park's northern concessions, spotlight drives reveal a different Serengeti — leopards on the move, hyena at the den, genets in the grass.

Maasai Cultural Encounters

Visit a living Maasai community bordering the park and hear, first-hand, how a people and a landscape have shaped one another for generations.

What Sets It Apart

A Wilderness Without Equal

  • The Great Migration

Over two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move in an unbroken circuit the largest terrestrial migration left on Earth.

  • Unmatched Predator Density

Lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena thrive here in numbers unrivalled anywhere else in Africa, making every drive a study in the hunt.

  • Land Without Fences

An unbroken ecosystem stretching into the Maasai Mara means the wild here moves exactly where instinct, not infrastructure, dictates.

  • A Story in Every Season

Unlike parks built around a single highlight, the Serengeti rewards every month of the year with its own chapter of the migration's story.

Why Serengeti

The Standard Every Other Safari Is Measured Against

"Other parks show you Africa's wildlife. The Serengeti shows you Africa's rhythm the very pulse the continent moves to."

It is not one attraction but an entire living system predator and prey, drought and rain, birth and pursuit, playing out across a stage vast enough to hold it all without a single boundary. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New7Wonders of Nature, the Serengeti pairs the world's most reliable wildlife encounters with some of East Africa's most storied luxury camps, making it the rare destination that rewards both the first-time traveller and the seasoned safari-goer in equal measure.
