7-Day Tanzania Safari Package
The perfect choice for travelers who want to see Tanzania's highlights in one week. This itinerary balances adventure, comfort and affordability across Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, with game drives, strong Big Five chances, and carefully selected lodges throughout.
The Itinerary
Your safari begins in Arusha, Tanzania's safari capital. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you're welcomed and transferred to your hotel, with time to settle in, relax, or explore Arusha's markets against the backdrop of Mount Meru.
Later, meet your safari guide for a full trip briefing before dinner and a restful first night.
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, a haven for elephants and ancient baobab trees, for a game drive through open savannah and riverine habitat where lions, giraffes and zebra roam. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park.
Afterward, drive on to Karatu in the lush Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and an overnight stay at a scenic highland lodge.
Another full day in Tarangire lets you track elephants, predators and birdlife across the park's varied terrain, with far fewer crowds than the more famous reserves — a hallmark of intimate wildlife viewing.
After a picnic lunch, return to Karatu for a peaceful evening, dinner and time to reflect on the day's sightings.
An early start takes you down into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact caldera and a hotspot for the Big Five, with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool.
In the afternoon, drive on toward the Serengeti with an en-route game drive, arriving for dinner and overnight in the heart of the park.
A full day in the Serengeti begins with a sunrise game drive to catch predators in action, and depending on the season, a chance to witness the Great Migration or large lion prides, with a picnic lunch out in the wild followed by afternoon exploration.
Dinner is served under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.
A final morning game drive as you exit the Serengeti captures last scenes of wildlife and landscape, before the route continues through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional stops at viewpoints or a Maasai village along the way.
Arrive back in Karatu by evening for a warm dinner and a cozy overnight in the highlands.
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Arusha, with scenic views and optional stops for crafts or souvenirs along the way, arriving with time for lunch and freshening up.
The safari ends with a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, closing out a week of wildlife, nature and true African adventure.
